The Red Pony | ROBERT MITCHUM | Western Movie | Drama | Family | Classic Cowboy Film
Old Western Movie starring Robert Mitchum: The Red Pony - A ranch boy is gifted with a colt, grows to love him but the colt escapes, with tragic results. The Red Pony (1949) Director: Lewis Milestone Writers: John Steinbeck Stars: Myrna Loy, Robert Mitchum, Louis Calhern Genre: Drama, Family, Western Country: United States Language: English Also Known As: John Steinbeck's The Red Pony Release Date: 8 March 1949 (USA) Duration: 88 min Filming Location: Agoura, California, USA Storyline: In the coast range mountains on the western edge of the Salinas Valley is a ranch where Tom, a lad of about ten, longs for a pony. He lives with his mom, who was born there, her dad, a talkative pioneer who misses the old West, Tom's dad Fred Tiflin, who comes from the city and after years on the ranch doesn't feel at home there, and Billy, their trusted hand, a real cowboy. While Fred has to sort out whether he wants to stay a rancher and come to terms with his son being closer to Billy than to himself, Tom gets a pony and learns directly about responsibility and loss. What lessons can each learn, and are tragedy and hard choices all that life offers? Are laughter and joy anywhere? Reviews: "Timeless classic based on the novel by John Steinbeck that the whole family can really enjoy. Sensitive and enjoyable film about a ranch boy who is gifted with a colt . The young Northern California boy cares his colt , enjoys , plays, until the little horse escapes , then things go wrong. A family film with emotion , sensibility and good feeling . It manages to accomplish attractive scenes , though slow-moving and dull , at times . Actors are frankly suberb such as Robert Mitchum, Myrna Loy , Shepperd Strudwick , Margaret Hamilton as an angry teacher , the small boy Peter Miles , and special mention for Louis Calhern as the grandfather usually telling stories. It was remade for TV in 1976 directed by Robert Totten with Henry Fonda , Maureen O'Hara , Ben Johnson, Jack Elam. It contains a really classy musical score by the great composer Aaron Copland . As well as colorful and brilliant cinematography by excellent cameraman Tony Gaudio, in perfect remastering. The motion picture was competenly directed by Lewis Milestone . This one was a vintage filmmaker who shot a lot of films in all kinds of genres with penchant for warlike genre , getting some masterpieces . As Lewis Milestone directed the following ones : " Mutiny on the Bounty" , "Oceans' 11", "Pork Chop Hill" , "Halls of Moctezuma" , "Arch of Triumph" , "The Strange Love of Martha Ivers" , "Of Mice and Men" , "The General died at Dawn", "The Front Page" , "All Quiet on the The Western Front" , "The Garden of Eden" ."-Written by ma-cortes on IMDb.com Also Known As (AKA): (original title) The Red Pony Austria Gabilan Brazil O Vale da Ternura Canada (English title) The Red Pony Chile El valle de la ternura Denmark Den røde pony Finland Tomin punainen poni France Le poney rouge Greece (transliterated title) To kokkino alogaki Italy (DVD title) Il cavallino rosso Italy Minuzzolo Italy (video title) Minuzzolo - Il cavallino rosso Mexico Valle de ternura Poland Kasztanek Portugal O Potro Vermelho Romania Poneiul roşu Soviet Union (Russian title) Рыжий пони Spain El poni rojo UK (complete title) John Steinbeck's The Red Pony UK The Red Pony USA (complete title) John Steinbeck's The Red Pony USA The Red Pony West Germany Gabilan, mein bester Freund ✘ Website: https://www.grjngo.com FOLLOW US! ✘ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/grjngo_westernmovies ✘ Twitter - https://twitter.com/Grjngo_com SUPPORT US! ✘ Membership - https://bit.ly/2V63h4q ✘ Merchandise - https://bit.ly/2FLB0sV MORE MOVIES! ► Classics: https://bit.ly/2CBLt8c ► Spaghetti Western: https://bit.ly/2CyCe8I ► All Playlists: https://bit.ly/2EOOfIH #westernmovies #freemovies #spaghettiwesterns COPYRIGHT: All of the films published by us are legally licensed. The Sundowners | Western Movie | Robert Preston | Outlaw | Cowboy Movie | English
Exciting family drama about two brothers: The Sundowners - Classic Western - Brother is pitted against brother in this tale of feuding ranchers in the Old West. The Sundowners (1950) Director: George Templeton Writer: Alan Le May (History as a serial novel von Collier's as "Thunder in the Dust") Stars: Robert Preston, Robert Sterling, Chill Wills Genre: Western Country: USA Language: English Also Known As: Die großen Helden des US-Westerns Filming Location: Amarillo, Texas, USA Storyline: A tale of a range war in the Texas Panhandle, in which the "bad" brother villain fights for what is right ... and in whose name he commits murder, while the "good" brother hero sanctions the rusting of wholesale cattle, and in the end reluctantly comes to the realization that he may not be doing the right thing. Written by Les Adams on IMDb.com Reviews: Released in 1950 and directed by George Templeton, "The Sundowners" is a western set in the Texas Panhandle, where honest rancher Tom Cloud (Robert Sterling) and his teenage brother (John Drew Barrymore) have trouble with shady sheriff Elmer Gall (Don Haggerty) and some rustlers. However, when supposed outlaw Kid Wichita (Robert Preston) returns to town, he begins to clean up the area, drawing the ire of the sheriff and the rustlers. Chill Wills plays a friendly neighbor, while John Litel stars as the sheriff's father, who (apparently) knows nothing of his son's questionable activities. Although "The Sundowners" is a bit of an obscure western, it is one of my favorites for its interesting characters, compelling writing, and palpable realism. As for the latter, the film was actually shot in the Texas Panhandle, not Arizona or Southern California like too many old westerns. Someone criticized the film on the grounds that it "had a hard time figuring out who was good and who was bad," which illustrates another element of realism: the characters have shades of gray and are not consistently black or white. Even the main protagonist, Tom Cloud, who embodies wisdom and goodness, shows a careless side that I won't reveal. Of course, the people involved in the cattle rustling ring are definitely shady, albeit secretly. The ringleader's father, however, is not corrupt and did not know what his son was doing, though he may have suspected and turned a blind eye. Kid Wichita, on the other hand, is somewhere between black and white, mainly because of his dubious past and the suspicious way Tom views his return. Wichita amusingly says a few times, "From Amarillo to Gee Whit, no one has proved anything to me - except twice," implying that he has committed at least two actual crimes in the past and apparently more. In the actual events of the film, however, I did not see Wichita do anything wrong. He is merely helping to rid the county of a cattle rustling ring. There are several references to Wichita murdering someone, but he actually caught the person in the act of scheming and didn't shoot until the guy reached for his gun. That's not murder, that's self-defense. The same thing happens in another situation. Personally, I was all for Wichita cleaning up the county of the riffraff. Maybe Wichita deserves death for his past sins, but not for what he does in this movie. RATING: A - Written by Wuchakk on IMDb.com. They Call Him Cemetery | Spaghetti Western Movie | Wild West | Full Length | English
Italian Western Comedy Directed by Anthony Ascott released in1971: They Call Him Cemetery - Spaghetti Western - John and George McIntire are a couple of naive brothers who travel to a lawless western town to see their father. They Call Him Cemetery (1971) Director: Giuliano Carnimeo (as Anthony Ascott) Writer: Enzo Barboni (as E.B. Clucher) Stars: Gianni Garko, William Berger, Christopher Chittell Genres: Western | Comedy Country: Italy Language: English Release Date: 9 June 1972 (West Germany) Also Known As: Bullet for a Stranger Storyline: John and George McIntire are a couple of naive brothers who travel to a lawless western town to see their father. The bumbling siblings get themselves into big trouble after they beat up a member of a gang of extortionists. Fortunately, a mysterious roving gunfighter decides to help the guys out of their jam. Written by Woodyanders Reviews: Warning: Spoilers "George (likable John Fordyce) and John McIntire (the equally engaging Chris Chittell) are a couple of naive brothers who travel to a lawless western town to see their father. The bumbling siblings find themselves in big trouble after they beat up a member of a gang of extortionists. Fortunately, shrewd and lethal mysterious gunfighter Camposanto (the great Gianno Garko, as smooth and charismatic as ever) decides to help the guys out of their jam by teaching them how to fend for themselves. Director Giuliano Carnimeo, working from a blithely silly and playful script by Enzo Barboni, relates the breezy story at a constant brisk pace, maintains a properly lighthearted tone throughout, and stages the wacky slapstick brawls and energetic shoot-outs with real verve (the climactic thrilling and dynamic confrontation between our heroes and the bad guys in particular seriously smokes). William Berger delivers a terrifically assured and commanding performance as crafty and deadly rival gunslinger Duke; the easy and natural chemistry between Berger and Garko makes all their scenes together a total pleasure to watch. Bruno Nicolai's rousing, twangy, and spirited score hits the stirring spot. Stelvio Massi's lively widescreen cinematography boasts a lots of crazy zooms and fierce pans. An immensely enjoyable and often amusing comedic romp." Written by Woodyanders on IMDb.com "This one's a keeper! Mega-stylish fun from Guiliano Carnimeo, who would also give us The Case of the Bloody Iris, one of the best gialli around. This time he's got two (camp) brothers heading from the East back to their dad's ranch, who's having trouble with an extortion racket. The brothers are absolutely crap at everything, so luckily for them dark stranger Ace (Gianni Garko) comes to their aid. Unluckily for them, the bad guys have hired William Berger to kill them. Garko shows the two fops how to mete out justice in the Wild West, while Berger sits around moodily waiting to pop a cap in their behinds. He's got this little collapsible whiskey cup, that, when folded up and put away, is a signal that someone nearby is going to shortly resemble a colander. Berger and Garko have a mutual respect for each other which is played rather nicely through the film. There's plenty of gunfights here, a bit of slapstick, and your usual big fight at the end. If you can get over some of the broad comedy (a trend in these flicks) you'll have a good time here." Long Days of Hate | COWBOY MOVIE | Wild West | Free YouTube Movie | Full Length | English
Italian Crime Western set in Texas in 1870 starring Guy Madison: Long Days of Hate - Spaghetti Western - A bounty, Benson is hunting down a vicious outlaw gang, who killed his parents, brother and sisters, except for one sister, Susy, who he wants for himself! Long Days of Hate (1968) Director: Gianfranco Baldanello Writers: Luigi Emmanuele (story), Luigi Emmanuele (screenplay) Stars: Guy Madison, Lucienne Bridou, Rik Battaglia Genres: Crime | Western Country: Italy Language: English Release Date: 20 July 1973 (West Germany) Also Known As: This Man Can't Die Filming Locations: Elios Studios, Rome, Lazio, Italy Storyline: In 1870 Texas, a gang of gun smugglers supplies arms, ammunition and whiskey to Indians. Undercover government agent Martin Benson helps the army eliminate such smugglers. However, the army still needs to know the identity of the man in charge of the gang and the location of their latest hideout. Martin Benson wants to retire but the army asks him to find the head of the smugglers. The army arguments that Benson is the best agent for the job even if another undercover agent, Tony Guy, has already penetrated the smugglers' outfit. A huge payment in gold coins is also offered to Benson as an enticement. Benson agrees to this last assignment and heads out of the army fort. On the trail, many gun runners and bandits try to ambush him and have him killed. In the nearest town, at the Benson farm, a group of smugglers raid and ransack the farm and kill Martin Benson's parents. They also rape his sister, Jenny. The other Benson siblings, Arias, Susy and Daniel are in town buying supplies. Reviews: ""I lunghi giorni dell'odio" (litrall translation: "Long Days of Hate") AKA "This Man Can't Die" (1967), directed by the capable Gianfranco Baldanello, who would go on to make the infamous "Black Jack" (1968), is above average Spaghetti Western. While not on the same level as Leone, Corbucci or Castellari, this film still holds it's grip pretty well, with excellent action scenes, some well staged bar brawls, very well done shootouts and a neat, Leonesque showdown for the climax. The plot is the usual story: parents murdered and daughter raped by outlaws, the sons set out to avenge their deaths. But it's capably handled, even if the revealing of who the head of the outlaws is is no big surprise. Still, a must-see for fans of the Spaghetti Western genre." Written by JohnWelles on IMDb.com "Released in 1968 and directed by Gianfranco Baldanello, "This Man Can't Die" (aka "The Long Days of Hate") stars Guy Madison as a government-hired agent looking for the ringleader of a group of gunrunner/bootleggers. Meanwhile his parents are murdered and youngest sister raped (Anna Liotti). Will he and his younger brother & other sister (Steve Merrick & Susy Benson) find the killers and their ringleader? Rik Battaglia and Rosalba Neri are also on hand. This is a serious spaghetti Western more akin to Sergio Leone's "Once Upon a Time in the West" (1968) than his comic booky (and sometimes goofy) Man with No Name trilogy. But it's half as long as "Once Upon a Time" and therefore leaner, which is better in my book (although "Once Upon a Time" is technically the better movie). While not great, it's a solid Western with a lousy English-speaking title. Too bad Anna Liotti's role wasn't bigger because she's an ultra-cutie." Director: Alan Rafkin Writers: Edmund L. Hartmann (screenplay) (as Edmund Hartmann), Frank Tashlin (screenplay) Stars: Don Knotts, Barbara Rhoades, Jackie Coogan PLOT (Wikipedia): Jesse W. Haywood (Don Knotts) graduates from dental school in Philadelphia in 1870 and goes west to become a frontier dentist. As a "city slicker", he finds himself bungling in a new environment. On his way west, the stagecoach is held up and robbed by two masked bandits. A posse catches one of them, Penelope "Bad Penny" Cushing (Barbara Rhoades). Facing prison, Penelope is offered a pardon if she will track down a ring of gun smugglers that also involves a local Indian tribe. Because the wagon train she plans to accompany will not permit single women to join, she tricks Haywood into a sham marriage as a disguise. Jesse, excited for his wedding night and not realizing the sham of his marriage, looks for Penelope who is investigating the crates of "bibles" the preacher and his minion have in their tent. Jesse startled Penelope who alerts the camp. Her investigation foiled, she goes to bed dragging along her bungling husband. As the wagon train draws near the town, Indians attack. As Jesse fumbles with his six shooter, Penelope expertly shoots the attackers. Jesse, believing he was responsible is proud of his accomplishment and is treated as a hero by the wagon train and the entire town that hears of his deeds. The Preacher and his minion, believing Jesse to be the undercover federal agent, hires the local outlaw Arnold the Kid to challenge Jesse to a gunfight. In the yard as Jesse practices for his gunfight, Penelope meets with her contact in town. Around the corner, Arnold listens for Jesse to use up his rounds and after the sixth shot challenges Jesse, even offering him the first shot. Penelope, feeling pity for Jesse, kills Arnold from the window. Haywood inadvertently becomes the legendary "Doc the Heywood" after he guns down "Arnold the Kid" and performs other exploits (all with covert assistance from Penny). Later at night as Penelope leaves to search the church where the Preacher resides, Jesse confronts her demanding where she is going. Penelope explains her situation and Jesse offers his help believing himself to be a crack shot. Penelope, not wanting Jesse to hurt himself, tells him the truth about her assistance on the wagon train and with Arnold. Penelope leaves, apologizing to Jesse, who is now heartbroken. Penelope investigates the church and is kidnapped by the Preacher and his minion, who take her to the Indian village outside of town. Meanwhile, Jesse walks into the saloon and admits the truth of his deeds to the town...who now find him a joke. As a drunken Jesse stumbles out of the saloon he sees Penelope being taken out of town by the Preacher. Jesse follows them to the Indian village to save Penelope. In disguise as a Squaw, Jesse maneuvers around the village and frees Penelope suggesting they wait for the entire village to get even more drunk. Eventually Jesse is discovered and the Preacher and his Minion challenge Jesse to a gunfight. Jesse is confidant as he knows Penelope is armed and ready in the shadows. As Penelope sets her sight she is grabbed by two marshals who sneaked into the village to save her. Two gun shots rang out and Penelope, crestfallen, leaves the village. Jesse however stands victorious with the Preacher and his minion shot dead. Jesse is surrounded by the rest of the village and appears doomed. Back at the town, the gates are barred and the townspeople prepare for a battle. To everyone's surprise Jesse rides with the Chief at his side and the remainder of the tribe behind them. Jesse has made peace with the Chief, using his dentistry skills to replace his missing teeth and orders him a rare steak. Jesse and Penelope reunite and hug.

Scalps - The commander of a Texan fort in the Civil War refuses to surrender to the Northerners, and tries to buy the local Indian tribe chief's daughter. The sage man refuses, and the Southerners massacre the tribe and abduct the young squaw anyway. The noble squaw manages to escape, and hides out with a rough rancher, who dislikes Indians, but hates the Southerners more. The odd couple joins forces, and tactics, to exert ultimate vengeance on the men at the fort. Released at the same time with White Apache, and according to rumors with more input by Mattei (who apparently directed most of this film) than on White Apache. Lots of bad dialogue of course, but that was more or less expected. The music was for certain parts quite good, in the vein of older spaghettis but during other parts awful with more modern (whatever) flavor. The film was certainly watchable, much better than, for instance, Zombi 3 which he "Co-directed" when Fulci was away for one or other reason. Mattei also tried here for some parts (usually in vein, though) to create this into a some kind of 'drama' film which was not so successful. I have no idea about which version is uncut and which one is not, the version I saw was on Greek video. If you find this one somewhere, check it out. It's not that bad as it is rumored to be (depending on your tastes, of course). I enjoyed it anyway." - written by "thomas-sundback" on IMDb.com Also Known As (AKA): (original title) Scalps Brazil Escalpo Finland Päänahat France Scalps Greece Scalps Hungary Véres skalpok Italy Scalps Portugal Yarin, a Índia Vingadora Soviet Union (Russian title) Скальпы Spain (promotional title) ¡Scalps! Unfortunately for him, a ruthless bounty hunter is on his trail. The bounty hunter tracks Trinity down and forces him to return to his violent ways in order to protect himself and his family. Reviews: "This was a hoot. Though I must say Kinski and Morricone saved this from total mediocrity. The plot is atypical spaghetti. It's more of a shane stoyline with a bounty hunter(Kinski) after shane as an added perk to the plot. George Martin is pretty good though and the baddies are really bad. Yes there is bad dubbing unintentionally funny lines and everything you expect from the genre but Morricone's harmonica theme is genuinely touching and raises the film everytime it underscores a scene, especially effective at the end. This movie would work without it but it would be nothing special. As for Kinski. This is unquestionably one of his best roles in a western. Everytime he's on screen is pure magic, even with the dubbing. And the ending to the movie is quite touching though it wouldn't be half as good without the actions of . . . who else KINSKI!! There is a German PAL dvd of this film. It's hard to find but if you do grab it." Written by ster2001 via IMDb.com "A very moving film, strongly influenced by Shane. the hero (played by George Martin) returns to his family 6 years after avenging his brother's murder. he agrees to put down his guns and become a rancher. meanwhile, some baddies (very bad) threaten his family and the local ranchers. Klaus Kinski, as a bounty hunter stalks the hero to claim a $5,000 reward. great performances and a powerful ending. a beautiful Morricone score. apparently, only available in DVD in a Best Entertainment German Pal 0 release (it played on my DVD player)." Written by tomdowse via IMDb.com "George Martin returns to his family's farm after six years on the run for killing his brother's murderer. He makes a vow to his wife, never to use violence again, but runs afoul of vicious land-grabbers and ruthless bounty hunter Klaus Kinski. Billed on some prints as a bogus Trinity sequel, this is actually a remake of a previous spaghetti western, Clint The Stranger, also starring Martin in an identical role with some footage from the previous film used as a flashback. Both films are about on par, though if watching both, the viewer is liable to decide for his or herself which one is better." Apache Fury | SPAGHETTI WESTERN
Apache Fury - A judge encounters a man (Frank Latimore) he once wronged after an Apache attack. The attack forces him, his fiancée and their fellow stagecoach passengers to take refuge at a rest stop. Apache Fury (1964) Director: José María Elorrieta (as Joe Lacy) Writers: José María Elorrieta (as Joseph De Lacy), Eduardo Guzmán (novel) (as Edward Goodman) Stars: Frank Latimore, Nuria Torray, Jesús Puente Genre: Western Country: Spain, Italy Language: English Release Date: 1 October 1964 (Spain) Also Known As: Fury of the Apaches Filming Locations: Aranjuez, Madrid, Spain Storyline: A judge encounters a man (Frank Latimore) he once wronged after an Apache attack. The attack forces him, his fiancée and their fellow stagecoach passengers to take refuge at a rest stop. Written on on rottentomatoes.com Reviews: "FURY OF THE APACHES is an early spaghetti western made before the stratospheric success of Sergio Leone's A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS, and thus it has little in common with the Eastwood film. Instead it feels very much like an updating of the John Ford classic STAGECOACH mixed with Howard Hawks' RIO BRAVO, featuring a bunch of characters fending off a frenzied mob of Apache Indians who are more than a little upset about the sudden death of their leader at the hands of one of the group. On paper, FURY OF THE APACHES sounds decent enough although it's the type of film let down by the lack of budget and expertise that makes it a lacklustre experience throughout. It's a noisy production, sure, with a lot of action scenes, but fewer of them are entertaining than you'd expect and the end result is all too familiar and much the same as any number of Ameircan B-movie westerns. The only time this film really rises above the norm is during a speeding stagecoach chase which is well staged given the constraints." Written by Leofwine_draca on IMDb.com "Way back in 1939 a short story, Stage Station, was written by legendary western writer, Ernest Haycox, of Union Pacific & Stagecoach fame. This story was used at least twice by Hollywood, Apache Trail (1942) & Apache War Smoke (1952). Now I know very little about Eduardo Guzmán, (aka Edward Goodman) who is credited with writing the novel that this movie is supposedly based on, but I can sure as hell spot the same story when it is used frequently. Apache Trail & Apache War Smoke both credit the writing honours to Ernest Haycox, Apache Fury makes no mention of him, which I find very strange as the story used is practically a carbon copy. A wagon train station is used as a sanctuary by a wagon that has come under Indian attack. The station master is known by some of the passengers and hanger-ons. The wagon is also carrying a large sum of money, which becomes the sole focus of a couple of no-goods. All the while the Indians have a very real reason for wanting one of the passengers, he mistakenly killed a chief of some friendly Indians. There are some minor differences from the Haycox story, but not many nor are they important parts of the plot. The genesis of this movie is very disappointing in my opinion." Death Is Sweet from the Soldier of God | SPAGHETTI WESTERN | Free Cowboy Film
Free Western Movie: Death Is Sweet from the Soldier of God - A former sheriff, after being accused of a robbery and escaping from jail with a revolutionary bandit, seeks revenge for his brother and his family. Death Is Sweet from the Soldier of God (1972) Director: Roberto Mauri (as Robert Johnson) Writers: Roberto Mauri (story), Roberto Bianchi Montero (story) (as Roberto Montero) Stars: Brad Harris, José Torres, Maretta Procaccini Genre: Western Country: Italy Language: English Release Date: 2 April 1972 (Italy) Also Known As: Er säte den Tod Filming Locations: Incir De Paolis Studios, Rome, Lazio, Italy Storyline: A former sheriff, after being accused of a robbery and escaping from jail with a revolutionary bandit, seeks revenge for his brother and his family. Reviews: "Brad Harris had signed a contract for three westerns with a production company called Three Stars, but only two of the three movies were completed, Wanted Sabata and Arriva Durango, Paga o Muori. This third part (See Database Page) was produced by another company, and is said to be an assembly of re-edited scenes of the first two movies, with a couple of new scenes added (*1). The film is best know for a couple of great titles (in Italian and English) plus a wonderful poster design, also used for various releases of the movie on VHS and DVD. Biggest throwback: the scene depicted on the poster, is not in the movie. Harris is Durango (Django in some versions) and he’s a former sheriff falsely accused of a robbery. He ends up in jail with a guy called Spirito Santo, who was arrested for steeling money he needed for the revolution and his poor family at home in Mexico - at least that’s what he says (he also pretends to be one-eyed). The two are sprung out of jail by a mystery man and subsequently join a gang of Mexicans who are looking for the stolen strongbox: Durango to prove his innocence, Santo to collect money for the revolution. We also get a vengeance tale, with Durango looking for the man who killed his brother and his wife. As one might expect from an assembly movie, Death is Sweet ... doesn’t hang together. The vengeance tale is particularly stupid: Durango tracks down the killer and takes his revenge, but an earlier scene clearly showed that this man - played by Vassili Karis - was not responsible for the slayings; when he arrived on the spot, Durango’s relatives were already dead and he has been trying to eliminate Durango ever since, because he - Durango - would never believe that he was innocent. What nonsense! Is the movie worth tracking down? Harris is his usual self, steady as a rock and acting like one, but the patchwork seems to hurt Torres' performance: In Arriva Durango ... his hyperactive style worked well in combination with Harris' stoicism, but here his character has no consistency and his overzealous routines - invoking la madre de Dios every other minute or so - quickly become annoying. For completists only. But that poster is a killer." Written by Simon Gelten on spaghetti-western.net. Also Known As (AKA): (original title): Seminò morte... lo chiamavano il Castigo di Dio! All the Way Boys | Terence Hill and Bud Spencer | CULT MOVIE | Cowboys
Bud Spencer & Terence Hill Western Movie: All the Way Boys - A bush-flying duo crash-land in the heart of the Peruvian jungle where an unscrupulous speculator controls a precious emerald source and an entire mining community. Can they right the wrongs, and in the process, manage to make a profit? All the Way Boys (1972) Director: Giuseppe Colizzi Writers: Giuseppe Colizzi (screenplay), Barbara Alberti (screenplay), Amedeo Pagani (screenplay) Stars: Terence Hill, Bud Spencer, Reinhard Kolldehoff Genre: Action, Adventure, Comedy Country: Italy Language: English Also Known As: Plane Crazy Release Date: December 22, 1972 (Italy) Synopsis: The "Trinity" crew makes another modern era film. Plata and Salud are pilots ditching aircraft for insurance money. They wind up crashing for real in the jungles of South America. The plot involves "Mr. Big", who is buying the diamonds from the miners for much too little, and has thugs who keep the price down. Of course, Plata and Salud side with the miners... Reviews: "I love these guys! Most their movies I saw as a child but even seeing them now I still consider them my all-time favorites & I can still watch them over & over & over without getting the least bit tired of them. "All The Way Boys" takes them away from the ole west but still carries the same great clean & fun humor these guys are known for. You will see LOTS of actors from previous/future Hill/Spencer films in this one. Lots of fun to watch & even the actors looked like they had a lot of fun filming it. I hope one day someone will have their full catalog of films released on DVD. Perhaps a box set?? Great movie with a very catchy soundtrack. On the site of the killing, a town, Gold Hill grows up, run by a group of businessmen. Years later, El Rojo, alias the last surviving Sorenson arrives, bringing the truth about the massacre, and revenge. Reviews: "Pretty predictable from the word go … or at least as soon as our leading citizens start getting threats via Indian arrow. The surprise here isn’t so much the plot, but some of the methods Sorenson uses to exact his vengeance. As for El Rojo, he’s referred to that precisely one time in this version of the film. And we never are really clued in about the back-story between Sorenson and Consuelo. Two moments you’re likely to remember: The appearance of a fast gun for hire named Black Bart who wears a mask over the lower half of his face to hide a horrific scar, and a rousing rendition of the song “To the West We Shall Go” by Nieves Navarro’s character." The Mercenary | SPAGHETTI WESTERN | Franco Nero | Old Cowboy Film
Spaghetti Western in Full Length: The Mercenary - A greedy Polish mercenary aids a mine worker and peasant girl as they lead a revolution against the oppressive Mexican Government, and are pursued by an American rival. The Mercenary (1968) Director: Sergio Corbucci Writers: Franco Solinas (story), Giorgio Arlorio (story) Stars: Franco Nero, Tony Musante, Franco Giacobini Genre: Comedy, Western Runtime: 1h 45min Country: Italy | Spain | USA Language: English | Italian | Spanish Filming Locations: Madrid, Spain Also Known As: Il mercenario (original title) Storyline: While a Mexican revolutionary lies low as a U.S. rodeo clown, the cynical Polish mercenary who tutored the idealistic peasant tells how he and a dedicated female radical fought for the soul of the guerrilla general Paco, as Mexicans threw off repressive government and all-powerful landowners in the 1910s. Tracked by the vengeful Curly, Paco liberates villages, but is tempted by social banditry's treasures, which Kowalski revels in. Reviews: I recently got hold of the Japanese DVD print via ebay. This is of really high quality and I was amazed that this film is not more widely known or appreciated. What a brilliant film. In many ways it is similar to Companeros and if you liked that wonderful film you will also love this. The story is somewhat far-fetched but is very enjoyable and fast paced in a 'boys own' way. The machine gun makes its familiar appearance. Franco Nero, as always, delivers a superb performance and Jack Palance gives a very good performance as a very unpleasant killer. The music is brilliant and the duel in the bullring is incomparable and is perfectly choreographed to the wonderful music. If you are interested in westerns you have to see this film. Written by washboard via IMDb.com "The second collaboration of Sergio Corbucci, the Italian Western's most important director besides Sergio Leone, and Franco Nero, one of the genre's greatest actors, after the ingenious "Django" from 1966, "Il Mercenario", a movie set in the time of the Mexican revolution, and therefore late for a Western, is a must-see for every fan of the genre. Sergei Kowalski (Franco Nero) gets hired by short-tempered revolutionary Paco Roman (Tony Musante), in order to help his squad of unexperienced rebels with their campaign for a free Mexico. While Paco is a crook, but also an idealist, becoming more and more idealistic after his troop is joined by beautiful and idealistic Columba, a woman whose father was a revolutionary , the Polish is a typical anti-hero, witty and cool and somehow sympathetic, but mainly concerned on his own benefit. The acting is great, specially Franco Nero as the Polish, and Jack Palance's performance as one of the villains. Another villain is played by Eduardo Fajardo, who played the villainous Major Jackson in Django. The score of this movie, composed by Ennio Morricone, is just brilliant (how couldn't it), the cinematography is great as well as the locations. My favorite film by Corbucci is still the incomparably brilliant "Il Grande Silenzio" ("aka. "The Great Silence") of 1968, "Django" of 1966 being my second-favorite due to its immense entertainment- and cult-value. Maybe not quite as brilliant as "Il Grande Silenzio" and not quite as influential as "Django", "Il Mercenario" is nonetheless an exceptional Spaghetti Western with a great sense of humor that I would recommend to everybody, not only genre fans. 9 out of 10!" He hires Hallelujah, a mysterious gunfighter, take down European emperor Maximilian by seizing a purse of jewels intended to be used for the purchase of weapons. This is no easy assignment as he must fight off bandits, secret agents, a fake sister, a so-called Russian prince and other scoundrels! Reviews: "until Mr. Tarantino recently included this film in his recent 'festival-of-classics', i thought only my family knew of it. i happened upon it on late-nite KTLA TV, and as my true San Diego mansion was 120 miles from LA, my 'hill-top' location, still allowed me to record it, on Beta-Max. i have seen this termed 'trash'. 'Shame, Shame, come back Shame! this, as 'Any Gun Can Play'('Kookie's best performance)is not your usual 'pasta-western'. no Leonie 'dark-side'--rather trenchant humor, and very-oddly, a rather strong link to modern physics. What??? the theme of 'perceptor-as-creator' is the 'base' for many scenes. those unaware of this line of 'quantum-physics' simply will see what sometimes appears as absurd, actually agrees with same. 'i pity the poor fool'--- i Love 16mm 'hand-held' photo-tech, and as both fixed, or 'hand-held', this unknown masterpiece blows-away the typical American camera-work. in fact, one may pause Any frame and observe a bit of Absolute Superb 'Modern-Impressionism', that should grace any Great museum---the colors, balance--Perfect. Captivating. This film-art 'nails' any cognizant viewer from opening scenes on-- 'Performance-wise'? one must remember this is 'dubbed' to English', so some lines may seem clumsy. yet the characters from the Mexican revolutionary, Russian thief. false Nun, etc. are brilliantly directed. Plot-wise? so it's the old 'gunslinger's-riches-hunt' formula? who cares? this one is Supreme, Breathtaking cinema work, for camera-alone. i was so taken with this, i spent +bucks to reach the 'hidden' producer. and i did. 1st he wanted to know how i found him, as the Italian 'IRS' was haunting him. then he informed me the 'rights' had been sold to an American co., seeking a flop as a tax-shelter--HA! sound like 'The Producers'? he also mentioned this film was a huge success in Europe and South America, yet ignored here, as Hollywood controls distribution." Have a Good Funeral, My Friend... Sartana Will Pay - When a young woman inherits a goldmine from her murdered uncle, Sartana comes to her aid as various swindlers, including the local sheriff, try to claim it as their own. Have a Good Funeral, My Friend... Sartana Will Pay (1970) Director: Giuliano Carnimeo Writers: Giovanni Simonelli, Roberto Gianviti Stars: Gianni Garko, Antonio Vilar, Daniela Giordano Genre: Western Country: Italy, Spain Language: English Also Known As: A Coffin from Sartana Release Date: October 8, 1970 (Italy) Filming Location: Cinecittà Studios, Cinecittà, Rome, Lazio, Italy Synopsis: After witnessing a brutal massacre, the legendary hero Sartana is ready to do some investigating. Almost everyone in the tiny town of Indian Creek seems eager to buy up the property left behind by the murder victims, and one of them could well be behind the killings. The sheriff himself is not above suspicion, so Sartana must uncover the culprit all on his own. Reviews: "Garko and Carnimeo cooperated in some good Italo-Westerns in the late 60s/early 70s, most remarkable is the "Sartana"-Series. This is definitely one of the best Sartana-Movies; tough, cynical and with a lot of humor, seasoned with all herbs of an excellent italo-western. The plot has some twists, good shoot-outs and a decent body count. The soundtrack's fine, good work done by Bruno Nicolai. The cast is standard with lot's of Italian b-movie heroes (ruffini, dell' acqua...) I had a lot of fun with this movie and it's worth watching it more than one time. Cowboy Film 2025 | Branded - The Ghost of Murietta | The Wildest Western Films Series #1080p Jason is in Los Angeles to help Senor Ramirez from Mexico transport $25,000 in gold, but when a desperate group of teenagers learn of their plan they hash a dangerous plan of their own. The results are fatal. A Washington, D.C. Western? Yes. McCord and his retired-general father are called to the nation's capital by President Ulysses S. Grant, who plans to develop the West by opening up the Federally-owned (and Indian-held) Black Hills for prospecting. Grant, who by this time had numerous enemies, picks up even more from Western big shots who hoped to exploit the Black Hills on their own, which leads to an assassination attempt while he is driving his carriage one night. Jason connects the attempt on the President in the previous episode to operatives from Cuba connected to Sen. Ashley on the day before an energetic demonstration of fencing planned for an evening presidential costume party.

John Coffee Hays: A Texas Legend | Into the Wild Frontier | Season 4 | Episode 5
Born in Tennessee in 1817, John Coffee Hays, better known as Jack, heads to the frontier of the Texas Republic in the late 1830s. Texas has only recently gained its independence from Mexico and it needs tough, hard riding young men to serve as members of the Texas Rangers, a new organization that will leave a long legacy in the history of the American West. Hays first signs on with the unit commanded by Texas pioneer Erastus Smith and during the next few years rises through the ranks of the rangers. During the late 1830s and early 1840s, Jack Hays and the rangers confront bandits and resist the efforts by the Mexican government to reclaim Texas. The greatest challenge, however, comes from the ongoing struggle with the Comanche, the most powerful tribe in the West, who are determined to drive the settlers out of Texas. In June of 1844, Hays leads his small band of rangers into a desperate fight against a huge force of Comanche warriors that could determine the fate of Texas forever.
